A critical component of reopening your business is making the right decisions about the health and safety of your children and families, your staff, and your program. So many policies to update and implement! How are you going to implement social distancing…and masks!? PHMC’s COVID-19 Health and Safety team continues to monitor information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the PA Office of Child Development and Early Learning, and the Philadelphia Department of Public Health. We can help you navigate the recommendations and guidelines to turn them in to everyday practices in your program and classrooms.

Technical Assistance
Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC), through generous funding from the William Penn Foundation, can support Philadelphia child care providers operationalize Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines. The Health & Safety supports are available AT NO COST to ALL PROVIDERS in Philadelphia. PHMC consultants can assist you with understanding and implementing current guidelines as we navigate through the “new normal” and provide support.  CLICK HERE to apply.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) now accepting requests!
FREE PPE, such as masks, gloves and eye protection, is available for prioritized providers. In addition, other supplies necessary to meet CDC health and safety guidelines for child care centers will be included such as disinfectant, sanitizer, soap, and no touch thermometers. Prioritized providers received a direct link from PHMC to request PPE. If you meet the eligibility requirements and have not received a link to request your supplies, please contact ECEProviderSupport@phmc.orgFor more information on both H&S TA and PPE opportunities, CLICK HERE or CLICK HERE (Spanish).

Open Office Hours-NEW!

COVID-19 Health and Safety Community of Learning-NEW SESSION!
Please join us on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, 10 to 11:30 AM for our next Community of Learning on exclusion guidelines. Deciding when to exclude children from care can be a difficult decision for ECE providers. The pandemic has added an additional layer of uncertainty when deciding what symptoms and illnesses require exclusion. Please join Dr. Susan Coffin from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to discuss illness circumstances that require exclusion of children, when to cautiously consider exclusion, and when exclusion is likely unnecessary. CLICK HERE to register.

Are you feeling overwhelmed and don't know where to start? During this unprecedented time, we know early childhood education operators have more questions than answers.  We are here to help you get the answers you need. You'll get a response within 48 hours. If we can’t answer your question, we will point you in the right direction.
